What is the entry fee?

Accepted Answer

The standard entry fee is $500 per team. If you register 2 or more teams, the discounted rate is $400 per team.

What age groups are eligible?

The tournament is open to youth players from U7 through U19.

Question 3

Can teams be co-ed?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Teams are allowed to be co-ed. Male and female players can compete together on the same roster.

Question 4

Are there separate girls and boys divisions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The tournament will have both a girls division and a boys division. Co-ed teams will be placed in the boys division. We will do our best to match co-ed teams against other co-ed teams where possible.

Can players from different clubs play on the same team?

Yes. Teams can be made up of players from different clubs. Each player must have a recognized player ID card to be eligible to participate.

Is there a deadline to register?

The registration deadline is July 10, 2026. We recommend registering early as spots are limited.

What is the tournament format?

The tournament is a 5v5 futsal format. Teams compete in a group stage followed by knockout rounds, with the top teams advancing to the Championship Final.

How many games is each team guaranteed?

Every team is guaranteed a minimum of 3 games in the group stage, regardless of results.

How long are the games?

Group stage and knockout games consist of two 20-minute halves with a 5-minute halftime. The Championship Final features two 25-minute halves with a 5-minute halftime.

Is the clock running or stopped?

The clock runs continuously throughout the game and stops only when deemed necessary by the referee.

Are there two flights?

Yes. The tournament is divided into two flights: Gold (Top Flight — more competitive) and Silver (Bottom Flight). Teams will be placed into the appropriate flight based on their level of competition.

Where is the tournament held?

The tournament is held in San Juan Capistrano, CA — in the heart of South Orange County with easy freeway access from all of OC and San Diego. Exact venue details will be announced soon.

What is the playing surface?

Games will be played on a variety of surfaces depending on the venue, including cement (outdoor basketball court), cement (outdoor tennis court), and/or hardwood (indoor gym basketball court). We recommend players wear appropriate futsal or multi-surface indoor shoes.

When is the tournament?

The 1st Annual Summer 5v5 Futsal Tournament takes place on July 18 & 19, 2026.

What equipment is required?

Players must wear matching team jerseys with numbers, futsal shoes or indoor soccer shoes, and shin guards. Cleats are not permitted.

What is the discipline policy?

The tournament follows a strict code of conduct. Yellow and red card policies are outlined on the Rules page. Unsportsmanlike behavior from players, coaches, or spectators will not be tolerated.
